Matthew 7:24-27
“Anyone who listens to my teaching and follows it is wise, like a person who builds a house on solid rock. Though the rain comes in torrents and the floodwaters rise and the winds beat against that house, it won’t collapse because it is built on bedrock. But anyone who hears my teaching and doesn’t obey it is foolish, like a person who builds a house on sand. When the rains and floods come and the winds beat against that house, it will collapse with a mighty crash.”
A strong family foundation requires God’s wisdom.
Wisdom from this world:
*Jealousy
*Selfishness
*It’s unspiritual and demonic
*There’s disorder and evil of every kind
Wisdom from God
*Pure
*Peace loving
*Gentle, willing to yield to others
*Full of mercy and the fruit of good deeds
*Shows no favoritism and always sincere
James.3:13
If you are wise and understand God’s ways, prove it by living an honorable life...
James 1:5-8
If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and he will give it to you. He will not rebuke you for asking. But when you ask him, be sure that your faith is in God alone. Do not waver, for a person with divided loyalty is as unsettled as a wave of the sea that is blown and tossed by the wind. Such people should not expect to receive anything from the Lord. Their loyalty is divided between God and the world, and they are unstable in everything they do.
Action step: Ask God for His wisdom.
Proverbs 2:1-6, 10-11
My son, if you receive my words and treasure up my commandments with you, making your ear attentive to wisdom and inclining your heart to understanding; yes if you call out for insight and raise your voice for understanding, if you seek it like silver and search for it as for hidden treasures, then you will understand the fear of the LORD and find the knowledge of God. For the LORD gives wisdom; from his mouth come knowledge and understanding…for wisdom will come into your heart and knowledge will be pleasant to your soul; discretion will watch over you, understanding will guard you…”
A strong family foundation requires the fear of God.
Prov.9:10
The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is insight.
