King Ben-Hadad of Aram gathered a large army and threatened King Ahab of Israel, demanding his silver, gold, and even his family. Ahab was afraid, but God sent a prophet to tell him that He would give Israel the victory so they would know that the Lord is God. Even though Ahab’s army was small, they defeated Ben-Hadad’s forces twice. God showed that victory doesn’t depend on numbers or strength, but on His power. However, Ahab made a mistake by letting Ben-Hadad go free, which displeased God.
