King Ahab wanted Naboth’s vineyard, but Naboth refused to sell it because it was his family’s inheritance. Ahab became angry and sulked. Queen Jezebel took matters into her own hands—she wrote letters in Ahab’s name, falsely accusing Naboth of cursing God and the king. Naboth was stoned to death, and Ahab took the vineyard. But God saw everything. He sent Elijah to confront Ahab. Elijah told Ahab that because of his sin, judgment would come upon him and his family. Ahab was afraid and humbled himself, and God delayed the punishment. This story reminds us that God sees all things and calls us to do what is right.
