Elisha traveled to Damascus, where King Ben-Hadad of Aram was very sick. The king sent his servant Hazael to ask Elisha if he would recover. Elisha told Hazael that the king would recover—but also that he would die. Then Elisha began to weep, because he knew the terrible things Hazael would do to Israel. Hazael returned to the king and the next day smothered him, taking the throne for himself. This story reminds us that God knows the future, and even when people make evil choices, His plans are never stopped.

 Prayer

Dear God, thank You for knowing everything—even the future. Help us to trust You and to choose what is right, even when it’s hard. Teach us to listen to Your voice and to follow Your ways. May our family always seek to do what honors You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
