A group of young prophets was building a new place to live near the Jordan River. As one of them was cutting wood, the iron ax head flew off the handle and sank into the river. The young man was upset because the ax was borrowed. Elisha asked where it fell, then threw a stick into the water. Miraculously, the ax head floated to the surface, and the man was able to retrieve it. This story shows that God cares about even the small problems in our lives and that He works through faithful people like Elisha.
Dear God, thank You for caring about every part of our lives—even the little things. Help us to trust You like Elisha did and to remember that You are always with us. Thank You for showing us that nothing is too small for Your attention. May our family always turn to You in faith. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
