King Ahab of Israel ignored the warnings of the prophet Micaiah, who spoke God's truth, and chose instead to listen to false prophets who told him what he wanted to hear. Despite disguising himself in battle, Ahab was struck by a random arrow and died, just as the prophet Elijah had earlier foretold. His death fulfilled God's judgment for Ahab’s disobedience and idolatry.

This chapter reminds us that God's word always comes true, and that we must be careful to listen to His voice, even when it’s hard to hear.

Family Prayer:

Dear God, thank You for always speaking the truth, even when it’s hard for us to hear. Help us to listen to Your voice and follow Your ways, even when others tell us something different. Give us courage like Micaiah to stand for what is right, and help us learn from the story of Ahab to trust and obey You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
