During a time of famine, Elisha returned to Gilgal where a group of young prophets were gathered. They were hungry, so one of them went out to gather herbs and found some wild gourds. Not knowing they were poisonous, he added them to the stew. As they began to eat, the men cried out, “There is death in the pot!” Elisha responded calmly. He asked for some flour, threw it into the pot, and miraculously made the stew safe to eat. This story reminds us that God cares about our needs and can turn dangerous situations into blessings through His power.
Dear God, thank You for caring about every part of our lives—even what we eat. Help us to trust You when things go wrong and to remember that You are always with us. Thank You for people like Elisha who show us how to respond with faith and kindness. May our family always turn to You in every situation. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
