The Shunammite woman, who had once shown great kindness to Elisha, had left her home during a famine as Elisha had advised. When she returned years later, someone else had taken over her land. She went to the king to ask for it back. At that very moment, Elisha’s servant Gehazi was telling the king about the miracles Elisha had done—including raising her son from the dead! The king was amazed and ordered that her land be returned, along with everything it had produced while she was gone. This story reminds us that God sees our faithfulness and can restore what we’ve lost.
Dear God, thank You for being a God who restores. Help us to trust You when we lose things or face hard times. Thank You for seeing our faithfulness and for working behind the scenes to bring justice and hope. May our family always believe that You are working for our good. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
