In this chapter, God sends a young prophet to anoint Jehu as the next king of Israel. Jehu, a commander in the army, is surprised when the prophet pulls him aside and pours oil on his head, declaring that God has chosen him to destroy the wicked rule of Ahab’s family. This moment marks the beginning of a dramatic shift in Israel’s leadership, showing how God raises up leaders to carry out His justice and fulfill His promises.
