After King Ahab died, his son Ahaziah became king. When Ahaziah was injured, he sent messengers to ask a false god, Baal-Zebub, if he would recover. God sent Elijah to confront them, asking why they were seeking answers from a false god instead of the Lord. Ahaziah then sent soldiers to capture Elijah, but Elijah called down fire from heaven to protect himself. Only when a humble captain approached Elijah with respect did God allow Elijah to go with him and deliver His message: Ahaziah would die because he did not trust in the Lord.

This story shows us the importance of honoring God above all and trusting Him in times of trouble.
