In these chapters, we meet King Ahab, one of the most wicked kings of Israel, and his wife Jezebel, who led the people even further away from God by worshiping Baal. Because of their evil, God sent the prophet Elijah to declare a drought over the land. While Ahab and Jezebel grew angry and desperate, God took care of Elijah. He led Elijah to a quiet brook and sent ravens to bring him food every day. Later, God provided for Elijah through a poor widow, showing that He always cares for those who trust Him.

 Prayer

Dear God, thank You for always taking care of us, just like You cared for Elijah. Help us to trust You even when things are hard or when we don’t understand what’s happening. Give us courage to speak the truth like Elijah and to stay faithful like the widow who shared what little she had. May our family always rely on Your promises. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
