After Elijah was taken to heaven, Elisha picked up his cloak and began the work God had for him. His first miracle was parting the Jordan River, just like Elijah had done. Then, when the people of Jericho came to him with a problem—their water was bad—Elisha threw salt into the spring, and God made the water clean and healthy again. These miracles showed that God’s power was now with Elisha, and that He cared about the needs of His people.

This story reminds us that God continues to work through those who trust Him, and He cares about both big and small problems in our lives.
