A wealthy woman from Shunem noticed that Elisha often passed by her home. She and her husband decided to build a special room for him so he could rest whenever he came through town. Elisha was touched by her kindness and asked what he could do for her. Though she had no children, Elisha told her that God would bless her with a son—and she did have a son! But years later, the boy became sick and died. The woman rushed to Elisha, and he came to her home. Elisha prayed and stretched himself over the boy, and God brought the child back to life. This story shows the power of hospitality, faith, and God’s ability to restore life.
