After three years of drought, God told Elijah to go and present himself to King Ahab. On his way, Elijah met Obadiah, a faithful servant of God who worked in Ahab’s palace. Obadiah had secretly protected 100 prophets from Queen Jezebel, hiding them in caves and feeding them. When Elijah asked Obadiah to arrange a meeting with Ahab, Obadiah was afraid—he feared Ahab would kill him if Elijah disappeared again. But Elijah promised to stay, and Obadiah bravely obeyed. This moment set the stage for one of the greatest showdowns in the Bible.

  1. Why was Obadiah afraid to tell Ahab that Elijah was back?
  2. What does this story teach us about courage and obedience?
  3. How did Obadiah show faith even though he was afraid?
  4. Have you ever had to do something brave for your faith? What happened?
  5. What can we learn from Elijah’s confidence in God’s plan?

 Prayer

Dear God, thank You for the courage of people like Elijah and Obadiah. Help us to be brave when You ask us to do something hard. Give us faith to trust You, even when we’re afraid. Help our family to stand strong for what is right and to always follow Your voice. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
